About IICA:Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) has been set up by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India to act as a think-tank and roll out need-based capacity building solutions to various stakeholders such as the industry, public sector enterprises, regulatory authorities, government departments and students etc.The School of Competition Law and Market Regulation, an integral part of the IICA, engages in research, policy advisory and capacity building in the areas of competition law and market regulation.About Programme:The School of Competition Law & Market Regulation, IICA in partnership with Competition Commission of India (CCI), is pleased to announce “Antitrust Programme for Young Fellows 2014 (Theme of the year: 5 years of Competition Law Enforcement in India)”. The programme comprises of two separate components, (a) Antitrust Writing Contest and (b) Antitrust Summer School (July 1-5, 2014).The aspiring candidates may choose to participate in any one or both the following programmes. The participation fee for Antitrust Summer School is Rs 10,000/- plus applicable tax (includes programme fee, accommodation and all meals & refreshment at IICA campus), whereas there is no participation fee for Antitrust Writing Contest. (a) Antitrust Writing Contest (Last date of submission June 20, 2014);The School invites original writings up to 5000 words on a diverse range of designated antitrust themes: Ø  {C}Ø  5 years of competition law enforcement in India: Achievements and ChallengesØ  {C}Ø  Innovative approaches to detect cartels and bid riggingØ  {C}Ø  Challenges in determination and enforcement of penaltiesØ  {C}Ø  Approaches to address policy and law induced market distortionsØ  {C}Ø  Fair, Resonable & Non-Discriminatory Terms: A Challenge for India?Ø  {C}Ø  A Challenge for Intellectual Property Rights- Competition Interface in India?Ø  {C}Ø  Competitive Neutrality: Challenges in the context of public sector enterprises and subsidies.Ø  {C}Ø  Innovations in competition outreach: New approaches for effective compliance and capacity buildingØ  {C}Ø  Scrutinising below threshold combinations: Feasibility and approachesØ  {C}Ø  Revisiting business strategy to stay competition law compliantØ  {C}Ø  Competition Law and Indian Economy: Future directions & Challenges for next 5 years. Awards:      1st Prize: Rs 20,000/-     2nd Prize: Rs 15,000/-     3rd Prize: Rs 10,000/-Top five papers (including the top three cash prize winners), receive summer school fellowship and an opportunity to present their work during the summer school. Selected papers may be published suitably. (b) Antitrust Summer School (July 1-5, 2014, IICA campus, Manesar, Gurgaon)The residential Antitrust Summer School is aimed at skill development of students by imparting foundational as well specialized training in drafting and transactional skills pertaining to antitrust cases.
